The Crimson Mob along with 7 other new mobs were discovered in January 1991 right after the MRED expanded its search perimeter.
Similar to previous meerkat mobs researched by the MRED, one of the members of the group was collared and the group was soon followed.
It took 4 months for the group to become fully-habituated, the dominant pair of the group at the time was held by female Crimson and male Cornell.
